The ancient part of the building dates back 1812. The building was commissioned by Giovanni Fiorani, a carpenter from Ripatransone, who moved to san Benedetto with his family. For the whole century, the building belonged to the Fiorani family, but in the '900 it became property of the Piacentini-Rinaldi family and the famous vernacular poet Bice Piacentini lived there. In the present, Palazzo Piacentini hosts the Local History Archive, the Pinacoteca del Mare, the Bice's office (studio di Bice) and the Hall of Poetry (Sala della poesia).
