Main Events in San Benedetto del Tronto

Scenaperta:

list of the summer events (from May to September) organized by the Municipality of San Benedetto. The brochure is free and it can be collected at the Town hall in viale De Gasperi 124, at the tourist information points, at the Hotelier Association office, and at the municipal buildings (Museums, Palazzina Azzurra).

Opensea:

music, theatre and literature festival. It has been realized by the collaboration between the Municipality of San Benedetto and AMAT, with the support of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and the Marche Region. It offers different variations of Contemporary Art.

Maremoto festival:

it is located in the ex-galoppatoio area, in San Benedetto. The Maremoto festival offers many events culturally and artistically innovative: concerts, djset, video projections, comics, exhibitions, performances.

Meetings with the author:

launches and presentations of books by authors who have published with the most important Italian publishers.

Piceno d'autore:

a whole week dedicated to literature: book presentations, meeting and conferences about the profession of the writer.  

Vernacolando... on the beach:

stories and poems in the vernacular of San Benedetto. They are performed on the beach by the Theatre Association Ribalta Picena.

Festa della Madonna della Marina:

as tradition demands, every year, the last weekend of July, the boats from the harbour carry in procession the picture of Santa Maria della Marina. The festival list events also suggests religious events, sagre (food fairs), prize lottery.

antiques market in the town centre.

Sagre:

Anghiò:

festival of the blue fish, it aims to promote and foster the long fishing tradition of San Benedetto. It takes place the first half of July in Viale Buozzi (town centre).

Ristoro al porto:

summer event for the promotion of blue fish and mussels from the Lampare (fishing boat with a big lamp). It serves lunch and dinner for the entire month of August. Every day, it offers a variation on the menu. It is located in via Pigafetta 27, near the old stadium Ballarin.

Sagra of the swordfish:

the festival is organized in collaboration with “Nostrano, dal mare alla tavola” and it is located in the market place of San Benedetto. It offers dishes based on swordfish.

Que rico:

festival of the Argentinian food and culture. Different traditional specialities need to be tasted: Asado (veal meat), Choripan (sausages), Empanadas (panzarotto), Dulce de Leche (Crepes with sweet milk). Argentinian music and dances are performed during the festival.
